The details

The Apple-Teque peanut jointed gag is a happy mouth style bit with a warm and durable plastic covering which is kind to the horse’s mouth. The peanut joint prevents the mouthpiece from coming into contact with the palate, making it more comfortable in the horse’s mouth. Our unique Apple-Teque covering is apple flavoured and can help the horse to easily accept the bit. Also known as a continental bit, it works by raising the bit in the horse's mouth in a similar way to a traditional gag but without the same severity. The reins can either be attached to the snaffle ring, or the lower ring for increased poll pressure and leverage. You can also use two reins or rounding's attached to a single rein with this bit so that a correct contact can be maintained on the snaffle ring without poll pressure when needed. This bit is perfect for riders who need a little more control when jumping or doing fast work.

Apple-Teque bits are very similar to rubber bits with the benefit of being lighter and more flexible. They are apple flavoured, making them very palatable and therefore suited to young/green horses or horses that have sensitive mouths. A warm and gentle choice suited to many. Please note, for reasons of health and hygiene this bit is non returnable if removed from the template

We deliver within the United Kingdom. Available delivery options and the total charge are shown at checkout before you pay.

Standard postage

Postage depends on the product and size ordered. Our standard rates are £3.25 for eligible small parcels, £3.95 for tracked items, £6.95 for heavy or general items, and £4.95 for selected UK-only items. Some products qualify for free postage.

For an order containing items with different standard postage rates, the highest applicable standard rate is charged, rather than adding those rates together.

Qualifying orders of £50 or more receive free standard postage. Collection-only items remain collection-only, regardless of order value. Prices and postage include VAT where applicable.

Collection from the shop

Free collection is available where offered at checkout from The Ranch Store, Oak Tree Farm, Main Road, Westwood, Nottinghamshire, NG16 5HU.

Please wait for your ready-for-collection notification before travelling, and bring your order confirmation. Shop opening hours are Monday to Friday, 9am–6pm, and Saturday, 9am–5pm. Closed Sunday.

Returns

30-day returns

Changed your mind? Please contact us within 30 days of delivery to arrange a return. Items returned under our extended returns offer must be unused, in their original condition, with tags and original packaging. Please include your order number or other proof of purchase.

How to return an item

Email sales@theranchstore.co.uk or call 01773 607411, telling us your order number and the items you wish to return. Please send the goods back within 14 days of telling us, securely packed. Keep your proof of postage.

Return costs and refunds

You pay return postage for a change-of-mind return. We cover reasonable return costs for faulty, damaged or incorrectly supplied goods. Approved refunds go to the original payment method; bank processing time may apply.

Your online cancellation rights

You may cancel an online order without giving a reason within 14 days of delivery, then have a further 14 days to return it. Contact us using the details above. For a cancelled order, we refund the goods and standard outbound delivery charge within 14 days of receiving the goods or evidence of return, whichever is earlier. Extra delivery upgrades are not refunded. You may inspect goods as you would in a shop; a deduction may apply for handling beyond what is necessary to establish their nature, characteristics and functioning.

Faulty or incorrect goods

Please contact us if an item is faulty, damaged or not as described. The 30-day change-of-mind window does not limit your statutory rights, including rights that continue after that period. This policy does not affect those rights.
